North Carolina High School Basketball - Asheville holds off McDowell

Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Asheville Cougars (Asheville, NC) and the host McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), saw Asheville's basketball squad hold off McDowell by a tally of 54-47.

With the victory, Asheville improves its record to 15-0 on the campaign. The Cougars host North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC) to confront the Black Hawks in a 3A/4A Conference 53 challenge on Thursday, January 12. The Black Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 7-8. North Buncombe won 66-57 in their recent league challenge against Enka (Enka, NC)

Next up, the Titans confront the Erwin Warriors (Asheville, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 53 challenge, on Friday, January 13. McDowell will attempt to improve on its 11-4 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 7-8 record after their 55-45 league loss to T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC).
