Gretna Hawks (Gretna, VA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Dan River Wildcats (Ringgold, VA), 37-23 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Gretna upgrades its record to 5-0 on the season. The Hawks host Nelson County (Lovingston, VA) to play the Governors in a non-league bout on Friday, January 13. The Governors go into the bout with a record of 1-4.

Next up, the Wildcats play the Altavista Colonels (Altavista, VA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Dan River will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record.
