Georgia High School Basketball - New Hampstead trounces Wayne County
January 10, 2024: Jesup, GA 31545 The New Hampstead Phoenix (Savannah, GA) basketball crushed the host Wayne County Yellow Jackets (Jesup, GA), 79-46 in Wednesday's league test.
The Phoenix (10-5) will now prepare for their test against Burke County (Waynesboro, GA). The Bears go into the AAAA Region 3 test with a 12-2 record. In their last test, Burke County walloped Screven County (Sylvania, GA), 67-50, in a non-league test.
The Yellow Jackets now own a 3-11 record. They play next when they host Islands for a AAAA Region 3 test on Friday, January 12. Wayne County will encounter a Sharks squad coming off a 62-53 non-league loss to St. Andrew's (Savannah, GA). The Sharks record now stands at 6-6.
