Michigan High School Basketball - Mellen fells Wakefield
January 10, 2025: Wakefield, MI 49968 The Mellen Granite Diggers basketball team scored 58 points and limited the host Wakefield Cardinals to 44 in the Granite Diggers non-league triumph on Friday.
The Granite Diggers now have a 8-1 record. They play next when they host Bayfield for a Northern Lights game on Monday, January 13. Mellen will confront a Trollers team coming off a 68-65 league win over Washburn (Washburn, WI). The Trollers record now stands at 7-3.
With the loss, Wakefield falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Dollar Bay (Dollar Bay, MI) to confront the Bays in a non-league game on Monday, January 13. The Bays go into the game with a record of 8-2. Dollar Bay lost 89-50 in their recent non-league game against Houghton (Houghton, MI)
