The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Cypress Springs Panthers (Cypress, TX) and the visiting Cypress Lakes Spartans (Katy, TX), observed Cypress Springs's basketball team overwhelm Cypress Lakes by a margin of 70-34.

The Panthers (20-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Cypress Ranch (Houston, TX). The Mustangs come into the 6A Region II District 16 challenge with a 18-7 record. In their last challenge, Cypress Ranch trounced Langham Creek (Houston, TX), 45-39, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Spartans battle the Cypress Park Tigers (Cypress, TX) in a 6A Region II District 16 challenge, on Tuesday, January 14. Cypress Lakes will attempt to better on its 17-8 season record.
