January 10, 2025: Goldthwaite, TX 76844 The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Goldthwaite Eagles (Goldthwaite, TX) and the visiting Johnson City Eagles (Johnson City, TX), observed Goldthwaite's basketball team knock off Johnson City by a score of 39-29.
The Eagles (14-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Center Point (Center Point, TX). The Pirates come into the 2A Region IV District 29 challenge with a 2-11 record. In their last challenge, Center Point was knocked off by Mason (Mason, TX), 82-7, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Eagles encounter the Long Creek Dragons (New Braunfels, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 14. Johnson City will attempt to improve on its 21-5 season record. The Dragons come into the challenge with a 5-8 record after their 42-31 non-league win over Randolph (Universal City, TX).
