In Friday's league contest, the visiting The Colony Cougars basketball team scored a close 44-40 triumph over the Lone Star Rangers.

The Cougars (12-12) will now prepare for their contest against Turner (Carrollton, TX). The Lions go into the non-league contest with a 2-17 record. In their last contest, Turner was tipped by Wakeland (Frisco, TX), 66-6, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Rangers battle the Newman Smith Trojans (Carrollton, TX) in a 5A Region II District 12 contest, on Tuesday, January 14.
