In Friday's non-league contest, the host Winnisquam Bears basketball team scored a close 52-46 triumph over the Mascoma Royals.

The Bears (1-7) will now prepare for their contest against Prospect Mountain (Alton, NH). The Timberwolves go into the non-league contest with a 6-1 record. In their last contest, Prospect Mountain nipped Somersworth (Somersworth, NH), 65-15, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Royals confront the Stevens Cardinals (Claremont, NH) in a Division III contest, on Wednesday, January 15. Mascoma will attempt to better on its 1-6 season record.
