January 11, 2023: Itta Bena, MS 38941 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Leflore County Tigers (Itta Bena, MS) and the visiting Leland Cubs (Leland, MS), saw Leflore County's basketball squad overcome Leland by a tally of 49-31.
With the victory, Leflore County improves its record to 5-8 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Riverside (Avon, MS) to confront the Bulldogs in a 2A Region 3 challenge on Friday, January 13. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 9-7. Riverside lost 50-46 in their recent league challenge against North Side (Shelby, MS)
Next up, the Cubs confront the Coahoma County Red Panthers (Clarksdale, MS) in a 2A Region 3 challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Leland will attempt to improve on its 0-10 season record. The Red Panthers come into the challenge with a 17-2 record after their 53-30 league win over North Side (Shelby, MS).
