The Covington Lions basketball team scored 44 points and restricted the visiting Franklinton Demons to 20 in the Lions non-league victory on Wednesday.

The Lions now sport a 4-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fontainebleau for a 5A District 6 contest on Tuesday, January 24.

The Demons (4-10) will now prepare for their contest against St. Scholastica (Covington, LA). The Doves come into the 4A District 8 contest with a 10-4 record. In their last contest, St. Scholastica triumphed over L.W. Higgins (Marrero, LA), 54-39, in a non-league contest.
