Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Taylor County Vikings (Butler, GA) and the visiting Central Hawks (Talbotton, GA), saw Taylor County's basketball squad hold off Central by a tally of 54-49.

With the victory, Taylor County improves its record to 9-8 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Greenville (Greenville, GA) to confront the Patriots in a A D2 Region 6 challenge on Saturday, January 13. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 2-10. Greenville won 63-10 in their recent league challenge against Webster County (Preston, GA)

Next up, the Hawks confront the Marion County Eagles (Buena Vista, GA) in a A D2 Region 6 challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Central will attempt to improve on its 6-7 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 8-6 record after their 75-30 non-league win over Furlow Charter School (Americus, GA).
