Maine High School Basketball - George Stevens Academy tops Sumner
January 11, 2024: East Sullivan, ME 04664 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the George Stevens Academy Eagles (Blue Hill, ME) and the host Sumner Tigers (East Sullivan, ME), saw George Stevens Academy's basketball squad knock off Sumner by a tally of 64-56.
With the victory, George Stevens Academy improves its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Woodland (Baileyville, ME) to play the Dragons in a C North challenge on Friday, January 12. The Dragons come into the challenge with a record of 1-8. Woodland lost 84-40 in their recent league challenge against Calais (Calais, ME)
Next up, the Tigers play the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners (Deer Isle, ME) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Sumner will attempt to improve on its 4-7 season record.
