The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Lovington Wildcats (Lovington, NM) and the visiting Belen Eagles (Belen, NM), observed Lovington's basketball team overwhelm Belen by a score of 64-42.

The Wildcats (11-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Carlsbad (Carlsbad, NM). The Cavemen/Cavegirls come into the non-league challenge with a 10-4 record. In their last challenge, Carlsbad trounced Mayfield (Las Cruces, NM), 67-58, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Eagles encounter the Menaul Panthers (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 14. Belen will attempt to improve on its 6-9 season record.
