In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Gatewood Gators basketball team scored a big 50-14 triumph over the Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers.

The Gators (6-7) will now prepare for their contest against Central Fellowship Christian Academy (Macon, GA). The Lancers go into the GIAA AA Region 2 contest with a 15-1 record. In their last contest, Central Fellowship Christian Academy smashed Mount de Sales Academy (Macon, GA), 47-36, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Cavaliers confront the Edmund Burke Academy Spartans (Waynesboro, GA) in a GIAA AA Region 4 contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Augusta Prep Day will attempt to better on its 1-12 season record. The Spartans go into the contest with a 13-3 record after their 60-38 league win over Westminster Christian Academy (Watkinsville, GA).
