Maine High School Basketball - Spruce Mountain overwhelms Mountain Valley
January 12, 2022: Rumford, ME 04276 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Spruce Mountain Phoenix (Jay, ME) and the host Mountain Valley Falcons (Rumford, ME), saw Spruce Mountain's basketball squad wallop Mountain Valley by a count of 44-18.
With the victory, Spruce Mountain upgrades its record to 4-2 on the campaign. The Phoenix host Madison (Madison, ME) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 14. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 5-1. Madison won 62-15 in their recent league challenge against Wiscasset (Wiscasset, ME)
Next up, the Falcons play the Oak Hill Raiders (Sabattus, ME) in a B South challenge, on Friday, January 14. Mountain Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 5-2 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 2-3 record after their 66-38 non-league loss to Hall-Dale (Farmingdale, ME).
