Nebraska High School Basketball - Wood River thwarts Sutton
January 12, 2023: Wood River, NE 68883 The Wood River Eagles (Wood River, NE) basketball knocked off the visiting Sutton Mustangs (Sutton, NE), 44-35 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Eagles (7-5) will now prepare for their test against Broken Bow (Broken Bow, NE). The Indians go into the non-league test with a 2-8 record. In their last test, Broken Bow went down by Kearney Catholic (Kearney, NE), 41-37, in a non-league test.
The Mustangs now own a 3-8 record. They play next when they travel to Thayer Central for a C2 District 10 test on Friday, January 13. Sutton will encounter a Titans squad coming off a 42-40 non-league loss to Deshler (Deshler, NE). The Titans record now stands at 5-5.
