New Mexico High School Basketball - Capitan nips Magdalena
January 12, 2023: Magdalena, NM 87825 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Capitan Tigers (Capitan, NM) and the host Magdalena Steers (Magdalena, NM), saw Capitan's basketball squad hold off Magdalena by a count of 54-50.
With the victory, Capitan upgrades its record to 10-5 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Tatum (Tatum, NM) to play the Coyotes in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 14. The Coyotes come into the challenge with a record of 7-4. Tatum won 49-45 in their recent non-league challenge against Dora (Dora, NM)
Next up, the Steers play the Reserve Mountaineers (Reserve, NM) in a A District 2 challenge, on Thursday, January 19. Magdalena will attempt to upgrade on its 11-6 season record. The Mountaineers come into the challenge with a 8-5 record after their 42-38 non-league loss to Logan (Logan, NM).
