The Providence Catholic Celtics basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting De La Salle Meteors to 25 in the Celtics league triumph on Thursday.

The Celtics now sport a 14-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Joliet Catholic for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 14. Providence Catholic will battle a Hilltoppers team coming off a 52-48 non-league win over Ottawa (Ottawa, IL). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 11-10.

The Meteors (12-9) will now prepare for their contest against IC Catholic Prep (Elmhurst, IL). The Knights enter the non-league contest with a 12-9 record. In their last contest, IC Catholic Prep was routed by Marian Catholic (Chicago Heights, IL), 55-27, in a non-league contest.
