Maine High School Basketball - Wells tops Freeport
January 12, 2023: Wells, ME 04090 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Wells Warriors (Wells, ME) and the visiting Freeport Falcons (Freeport, ME), saw Wells's basketball squad knock off Freeport by a count of 47-31.
With the victory, Wells upgrades its record to 9-1 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Gray-New Gloucester (Gray, ME) to play the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 20. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 7-2. Gray-New Gloucester won 48-47 in their recent league challenge against Brunswick (Brunswick, ME)
Next up, the Falcons play the Yarmouth Clippers (Yarmouth, ME) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 14. Freeport will attempt to upgrade on its 3-8 season record. The Clippers come into the challenge with a 4-4 record after their 48-38 league win over Leavitt (Turner, ME).
