Grafton Clippers (Yorktown, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Smithfield Packers (Smithfield, VA), 49-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Grafton upgrades its record to 10-2 on the season. The Clippers host Poquoson (Poquoson, VA) to clash with the Islanders in a Bay Rivers bout on Wednesday, January 17. The Islanders go into the bout with a record of 1-7.

Next up, the Packers clash with the Bruton Panthers (Williamsburg, VA) in a Bay Rivers bout, on Wednesday, January 17. Smithfield will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 10-3 record after their 54-51 league win over Warhill (Williamsburg, VA).
