Nicholas County Grizzlies (Summersville, WV) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Midland Trail Patriots (Hico, WV), 59-54 in a league bout.

With the win, Nicholas County upgrades its record to 5-5 on the season. The Grizzlies host PikeView (Princeton, WV) to play the Panthers in a Coalfield AA bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 3-7. PikeView won 77-65 in their recent league bout against Independence (Coal City, WV)

Next up, the Patriots play the Summers County Bobcats (Hinton, WV) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 19. Midland Trail will attempt to upgrade on its 7-2 season record.
