Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Slocum Mustangs (Elkhart, TX) and the host Neches Tigers (Neches, TX), saw Slocum's basketball squad overcome Neches by a tally of 53-43.

With the victory, Slocum improves its record to 7-15 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Centerville (Groveton, TX) to confront the Bulldogs in a 1A Region IV District 27 challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 5-14.
