Virginia High School Basketball - Woodgrove nips Rock Ridge
January 12, 2024: Purcellville, VA 20132 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Woodgrove Wolverines (Purcellville, VA) and the visiting Rock Ridge Phoenix (Ashburn, VA), saw Woodgrove's basketball squad hold off Rock Ridge by a tally of 83-81.
With the victory, Woodgrove improves its record to 11-2 on the campaign. The Wolverines travel to John Champe (Aldie, VA) to play the Knights in a Catoctin challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Knights come into the challenge with a record of 6-6. John Champe lost 76-67 in their recent non-league challenge against Bowie (Bowie, MD)
Next up, the Phoenix play the Dominion Titans (Sterling, VA) in a Dulles challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Rock Ridge will attempt to improve on its 8-5 season record. The Titans come into the challenge with a 1-10 record after their 70-56 league loss to Heritage (Leesburg, VA).
