Washington High School Basketball - Sumner nips Bellarmine Prep
January 12, 2024: Tacoma, WA 98405 Sumner Spartans (Sumner, WA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Bellarmine Prep Lions (Tacoma, WA), 53-50 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Sumner upgrades its record to 10-1 on the season. The Spartans travel to South Kitsap (Port Orchard, WA) to play the Wolves in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Wolves go into the bout with a record of 3-7. South Kitsap won 42-41 in their recent non-league bout against Emerald Ridge (South Hill, WA)
Next up, the Lions play the Tahoma Bears (Maple Valley, WA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 15. Bellarmine Prep will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 9-0 record after their 56-34 non-league win over Mt. Rainier (Des Moines, WA).
