The Mount Vernon Tigers basketball team scored 68 points and restricted the host Harmony Eagles to 35 in the Tigers league victory on Friday.

The Tigers now sport a 14-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Winona for a 3A Region II District 13 contest on Thursday, January 18. Mount Vernon will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 43-3 league loss to Harmony (Big Sandy, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-6.

The Eagles (12-13) will now prepare for their contest against Winnsboro (Winnsboro, TX). The Raiders come into the 3A Region II District 13 contest with a 23-6 record. In their last contest, Winnsboro triumphed over Quitman (Quitman, TX), 56-19, in a league contest.
