Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Wall Hawks (Wall, TX) and the host Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX), saw Wall's basketball squad overcome Merkel by a tally of 52-44.

With the victory, Wall improves its record to 17-6 on the campaign. The Hawks host Jim Ned (Tuscola, TX) to confront the Indians in a 3A Region I District 6 challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 24-2. Jim Ned won 78-22 in their recent league challenge against Clyde (Clyde, TX)

Next up, the Badgers confront the San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy Eagles (San Angelo, TX) in a 3A Region I District 6 challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Merkel will attempt to improve on its 17-8 season record.
