North Carolina High School Basketball - Mountain Heritage crushes Mitchell

January 12, 2024: Bakersville, NC 28705

Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), 68-28 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mountain Heritage upgrades its record to 12-2 on the campaign. The Cougars host Madison (Marshall, NC) to play the Patriots in a 1A/2A Western Highlands bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 7-8. Madison lost 63-44 in their recent league bout against Avery County (Newland, NC)

Next up, the Mountaineers play the Rosman Tigers (Rosman, NC) in a 1A/2A Western Highlands bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Mitchell will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 12-3 record after their 50-41 league win over Draughn (Valdese, NC).
