January 13, 2022: Laurel, MS 39440 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Sylva Bay Academy Saints (Bay Springs, MS) and the host Laurel Christian Lions (Laurel, MS), saw Sylva Bay Academy's basketball squad hold off Laurel Christian by a tally of 34-30.
With the victory, Sylva Bay Academy improves its record to 7-7 on the campaign. The Saints travel to Newton County Academy (Decatur, MS) to confront the Generals in a challenge on Friday, January 14. The Generals come into the challenge with a record of 2-12. Newton County Academy lost 38-11 in their recent non-league challenge against Patrician Academy (Butler, AL)
Next up, the Lions confront the Wayne Academy Jaguars (Waynesboro, MS) in a challenge, on Friday, January 14. Laurel Christian will attempt to improve on its 3-3 season record. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a 1-2 record after their 25-20 non-league win over Newton County Academy (Decatur, MS).
