Texas High School Basketball - Wellman-Union nudges Dawson
January 13, 2023: Welch, TX 79377 In Friday's league outing, the Wellman-Union Wildcats (Wellman, TX) basketball squad edged the host Dawson Dragons (Welch, TX), by a margin of 27-25.
The Wildcats (1-7) will now prepare for their outing against Loop (Loop, TX). The Longhorns go into the 1A Region I District 8 outing with a 4-10 record. In their last outing, Loop was tipped by Grady (Lenorah, TX), 69-23, in a league outing.
The Dragons now own a 2-8 record. They play next when they travel to Klondike for a 1A Region I District 8 outing on Tuesday, January 17. Dawson will clash with a Cougars squad coming off a 41-33 league win over Sands (Ackerly, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 2-8.
