Southland Eagles (Southland, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Wellman-Union Wildcats (Wellman, TX), 52-38 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Southland upgrades its record to 3-4 on the campaign. The Eagles host Motley County (Matador, TX) to play the Matadors in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 6. The Matadors come into the bout with a record of 1-2. Motley County lost 36-9 in their recent non-league bout against Southcrest Christian (Lubbock, TX)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Petersburg Buffaloes (Petersburg, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 6. Wellman-Union will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Buffaloes come into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 50-38 non-league win over Patton Springs (Afton, TX).
