The East Marion Eagles basketball team scored 74 points and held the host Loyd Star Hornets to 70 in the Eagles league triumph on Friday.

The Eagles now sport a 11-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Columbia Academy for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 17. East Marion will battle a Cougars team coming off a 47-33 non-league win over Woodlawn Prep (Columbia, MS). The Cougars record now stands at 5-3.

The Hornets (10-7) will now prepare for their contest against Bogue Chitto (Bogue Chitto, MS). The Bobcats enter the 2A Region 7 contest with a 5-3 record. In their last contest, Bogue Chitto nudged Salem (Tylertown, MS), 60-37, in a non-league contest.
