The Elkhorn Valley Falcons basketball team scored 67 points and held the host Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars to 24 in the Falcons non-league triumph on Friday.

The Falcons now sport a 9-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bloomfield for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 14. Elkhorn Valley will battle a Bees team coming off a 63-42 non-league win over Plainview (Plainview, NE). The Bees record now stands at 7-6.

The Cougars (0-14) will now prepare for their contest against North Central (Bassett, NE). The Knights enter the D1 District 6 contest with a 4-5 record. In their last contest, North Central triumphed over Twin Loup (Sargent, NE), 51-27, in a non-league contest.
