January 13, 2023: Rome, GA 30161 The Unity Christian Lions (Rome, GA) basketball nipped the visiting Gordon Central Warriors (Calhoun, GA), 72-65 in Friday's non-league test.
The Lions (5-9) will now prepare for their test against Excel Christian Academy (Cartersville, GA). The Eagles go into the GAPPS - I-AA Region 1 test with a 8-8 record. In their last test, Excel Christian Academy got by Praise Academy (Powder Springs, GA), 56-35, in a league test.
The Warriors now own a 9-5 record. They play next when they host Rockmart for a AA Region 7 test on Tuesday, January 17. Gordon Central will encounter a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 67-60 non-league win over Cedartown (Cedartown, GA). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 9-8.
