The Hopewell Blue Devils (Hopewell, VA) basketball nipped the host Matoaca Warriors (Chesterfield, VA), 55-54 in Friday's league test.

The Blue Devils (10-2) will now prepare for their test against Phoebus (Hampton, VA). The Phantoms go into the non-league test with a 5-5 record. In their last test, Phoebus was tipped by Menchville (Newport News, VA), 73-51, in a league test.
