Minnesota High School Basketball - Loyola nips Martin County West
January 13, 2023: Sherburn, MN 56171 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Loyola Crusaders (Mankato, MN) and the host Martin County West Mavericks (Sherburn, MN), saw Loyola's basketball squad hold off Martin County West by a count of 42-39.
With the victory, Loyola upgrades its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Crusaders host Mayer Lutheran (Mayer, MN) to play the Crusaders in a A Section 2 challenge on Monday, January 16. The Crusaders come into the challenge with a record of 0-11. Mayer Lutheran lost 68-37 in their recent non-league challenge against Southwest Christian (Chaska, MN)
Next up, the Mavericks play the St. James Saints (St. James, MN) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 16. Martin County West will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record. The Saints come into the challenge with a 4-5 record after their 74-65 league loss to Luverne (Luverne, MN).
