Rio Vista Eagles (Rio Vista, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Valley Mills Eagles (Valley Mills, TX), 47-37 in a league bout.

With the win, Rio Vista upgrades its record to 6-18 on the season. The Eagles travel to Frost (Frost, TX) to clash with the Polar Bears in a 2A Region II District 12 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Polar Bears go into the bout with a record of 6-19. Frost lost 73-35 in their recent league bout against Itasca (Itasca, TX)

Next up, the Eagles clash with the Hamilton Bulldogs (Hamilton, TX) in a 2A Region II District 12 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Valley Mills will attempt to upgrade on its 6-13 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 6-13 record after their 40-37 league loss to Italy (Italy, TX).
