Georgia High School Basketball - Elbert County tops Athens Christian
January 13, 2023: Elberton, GA 30635 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Elbert County Blue Devils (Elberton, GA) and the visiting Athens Christian Eagles (Athens, GA), saw Elbert County's basketball squad knock off Athens Christian by a tally of 66-46.
With the victory, Elbert County improves its record to 14-3 on the campaign. The Blue Devils travel to Oglethorpe County (Lexington, GA) to play the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 14. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 9-7. Oglethorpe County lost 55-49 in their recent non-league challenge against Athens Academy (Athens, GA)
Next up, the Eagles play the Rabun County Wildcats (Tiger, GA) in a A D1 Region 8 challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Athens Christian will attempt to improve on its 10-5 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 15-1 record after their 60-24 league win over Commerce (Commerce, GA).
