Lynnville-Sully Hawks (Sully, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting English Valleys Bears (North English, IA), 36-26 in a league bout.

With the win, Lynnville-Sully upgrades its record to 10-4 on the season. The Hawks travel to Collins-Maxwell-Baxter (Maxwell, IA) to clash with the Raiders in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Collins-Maxwell-Baxter won 46-26 in their recent non-league bout against BCLUW (Conrad, IA)

Next up, the Bears clash with the B-G-M Bears (Brooklyn, IA) in a South Iowa Cedar bout, on Monday, January 16. English Valleys will attempt to upgrade on its 9-5 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 3-7 record after their 47-20 league loss to Sigourney (Sigourney, IA).
