The English Valleys Bears basketball team scored 54 points and held the visiting Tri-County Trojans to 52 in the Bears league triumph on Tuesday.

The Bears now sport a 11-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Belle Plaine for a South Iowa Cedar contest on Friday, January 20. English Valleys will meet a Plainsmen team coming off a 49-36 league loss to Keota (Keota, IA). The Plainsmen record now stands at 2-13.

The Trojans (0-13) will now prepare for their contest against Iowa Valley (Marengo, IA). The Tigers enter the South Iowa Cedar contest with a 8-5 record.
