The Malad Dragons basketball team scored 50 points and restricted the host West Side Pirates to 40 in the Dragons league victory on Friday.

The Dragons now sport a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bear Lake for a 2A South East Idaho contest on Thursday, January 19. Malad will battle a Bears team coming off a 53-36 non-league loss to Grace (Grace, ID). The Bears record now stands at 2-12.

The Pirates (10-3) will now prepare for their contest against Soda Springs (Soda Springs, ID). The Cardinals come into the 2A South East Idaho contest with a 14-3 record. In their last contest, Soda Springs prevailed over Aberdeen (Aberdeen, ID), 65-19, in a league contest.
