Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Wall Hawks (Wall, TX) and the visiting Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX), saw Wall's basketball squad hold off Merkel by a tally of 39-36.

With the victory, Wall improves its record to 21-3 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Jim Ned (Tuscola, TX) to confront the Indians in a 3A Region I District 6 challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 19-1. Jim Ned won 47-19 in their recent league challenge against Clyde (Clyde, TX)

Next up, the Badgers confront the Grape Creek Eagles (San Angelo, TX) in a 3A Region I District 6 challenge, on Friday, January 20. Merkel will attempt to improve on its 18-7 season record.
