Virginia High School Basketball - Nansemond River crushes Western Branch

January 13, 2023: Suffolk, VA 23434

Nansemond River Warriors (Suffolk, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA), 55-32 in a league bout.

With the win, Nansemond River upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Warriors host Hickory (Chesapeake, VA) to play the Hawks in a Southeastern bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Hawks go into the bout with a record of 2-9. Hickory lost 63-37 in their recent league bout against Grassfield (Chesapeake, VA)

Next up, the Bruins play the Highland Springs Springers (Highland Springs, VA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 16. Western Branch will attempt to upgrade on its 7-2 season record. The Springers go into the bout with a 9-3 record after their 70-36 non-league loss to Riverdale Baptist (Upper Marlboro, MD).
