New Jersey High School Basketball - Cherokee nips Salem
January 13, 2024: Marlton, NJ 08053 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Cherokee Chiefs (Marlton, NJ) and the visiting Salem Rams (Salem, NJ), saw Cherokee's basketball squad hold off Salem by a count of 48-45.
With the victory, Cherokee upgrades its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Chiefs travel to Paulsboro (Paulsboro, NJ) to play the Red Raiders in a non-league test on Monday, January 15. The Red Raiders go into the test with a record of 4-6. Paulsboro lost 53-40 in their recent league test against Audubon (Audubon, NJ)
The Rams now own a 6-4 record. They play next when they host Gloucester Catholic for a Tri-County - Classic test on Tuesday, January 16. Salem will encounter a Rams squad coming off a 65-58 league loss to Wildwood (Wildwood, NJ). The Rams record now stands at 6-3.
