January 13, 2024: Dixfield, ME 04224 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Spruce Mountain Phoenix (Jay, ME) and the host Dirigo Cougars (Dixfield, ME), saw Spruce Mountain's basketball squad overcome Dirigo by a tally of 46-37.
With the victory, Spruce Mountain improves its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Phoenix host Oceanside (Rockland, ME) to confront the Mariners in a B South challenge on Monday, January 15. The Mariners come into the challenge with a record of 9-0. Oceanside won 95-68 in their recent league challenge against Lincoln Academy (Newcastle, ME)
Next up, the Cougars confront the Boothbay Seahawks (Boothbay Harbor, ME) in a C South challenge, on Wednesday, January 17. Dirigo will attempt to improve on its 6-2 season record.
