Virginia High School Basketball - Gwynn Park fells Hayfield
January 13, 2024: Alexandria, VA 22315 Gwynn Park Yellowjackets (Brandywine, MD) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Hayfield Hawks (Alexandria, VA), 50-36 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Gwynn Park upgrades its record to 10-0 on the season. The Yellowjackets host Potomac (Oxon Hill, MD) to clash with the Wolverines in a Prince George's County 3A/2A/1A bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Wolverines go into the bout with a record of 1-6. Potomac lost 84-27 in their recent league bout against Largo (Upper Marlboro, MD)
Next up, the Hawks clash with the Justice Wolves (Falls Church, VA) in a District 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Hayfield will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Wolves go into the bout with a 2-11 record after their 49-33 league loss to Falls Church (Falls Church, VA).
