Johnston Panthers (Johnston, RI) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting South Kingstown Rebels (Wakefield, RI), 66-62 in a league bout.

With the victory, Johnston upgrades its record to 10-1 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Middletown (Middletown, RI) to play the Islanders in a Division 2 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Islanders come into the bout with a record of 4-6. Middletown lost 55-47 in their recent league bout against Tolman (Pawtucket, RI)

Next up, the Rebels play the Times Squared Academy Eagles (Providence, RI) in a Division 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. South Kingstown will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 3-7 record after their 64-61 league win over Toll Gate (Warwick, RI).
