The Weir Red Riders basketball team (Weirton, WV), was nudged 71-68 in Saturday's league battle with the visiting North Marion Huskies (Farmington, WV)

The Huskies now sport a 5-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Bridgeport for a Big Ten battle on Wednesday, January 17. North Marion will battle a Indians team coming off a 57-30 non-league win over Jefferson (Shenandoah Junction, WV). The Indians record now stands at 8-1.

The Red Riders (3-9) will now prepare for their battle against Williamstown (Williamstown, WV). The Yellowjackets come into the non-league battle with a 9-1 record. In their last battle, Williamstown edged Logan (Logan, WV), 56-51, in a non-league battle.
