The Maury Commodores basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the visiting Oscar Smith Tigers to 37 in the Commodores non-league victory on Saturday.

The Commodores now sport a 6-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Booker T. Washington for a Eastern contest on Wednesday, January 17. Maury will battle a Mighty Bookers team coming off a 56-42 league loss to Granby (Norfolk, VA). The Mighty Bookers record now stands at 2-6.

The Tigers (6-5) will now prepare for their contest against Hickory (Chesapeake, VA). The Hawks come into the Southeastern contest with a 4-7 record. In their last contest, Hickory was routed by Grassfield (Chesapeake, VA), 82-29, in a league contest.
