Mica Mountain Thunderbolts (Tucson, AZ) supporters left the game satisfied Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Eastmark Firebirds (Mesa, AZ), 56-52 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Mica Mountain advances its record to 14-4 on the year. The Thunderbolts host Salpointe Catholic (Tucson, AZ) to face the Lancers in a 4A Kino match on Wednesday, January 15. The Lancers enter the match with a record of 14-4. Salpointe Catholic won 82-48 in their recent non-league match against Catalina Foothills (Tucson, AZ)

The Firebirds now own a 9-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host ALA - Gilbert North for a 4A East Sky match on Wednesday, January 15. Eastmark will face a Eagles squad coming off a 43-39 league loss to Poston Butte (San Tan Valley, AZ). The Eagles record now stands at 6-12.
