The Merkel Badgers basketball team scored 41 points and held the host Clyde Bulldogs to 38 in the Badgers league triumph on Friday.

The Badgers now sport a 17-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Grape Creek for a 3A Region I District 6 contest on Tuesday, February 1.

The Bulldogs (15-11) will now prepare for their contest against Grape Creek (San Angelo, TX). The Eagles enter the 3A Region I District 6 contest with a 4-13 record. In their last contest, Grape Creek was nudged by Jim Ned (Tuscola, TX), 79-23, in a league contest.
